Our first meal in Italy...spaghetti pomodoro (basil and tomato spaghetti), so good, I want more!!! Pizza and salad really good too. Neat little bar/restaurant, great service. When we walked in there was a bunch of older local guys playing a very serious game cards, pretty awesome. View all feedback.
What Melissa F doesn't like about Nunzio:
This is a small bar/restaurant located in Corniglia, about 5 minutes off the hiking trail. I went hiking for 4 hours and when I got to Corniglia I was STARVING! I saw a lot of people eating outside so I decided to give it a try. The server sat me immediately and I I asked what she would recommend. She said I should try the Garganelli because it's not typically found all over Italy. So I ordered the Garganelli! The pa... View all feedback.
I ordered the pesto pizza on a gluten free crust. The crust was thin and nothing I had a complaint about, but nothing more noteworthy either. The pizza topping was much less flavorful than I expected. The service could have been better as I felt like somewhat of a nuisance to the staff based on their inpatient faces as I decided on my order. I also enjoyed a glass of sciaccherta, the sweet wine of the region, which was served in a small glass. It came with a few biscotti that had chunks of almonds in them and good flavor.
Maybe we just came at a weird time.. But we came for the breakfast deal and it wasn't great. My husband ordered the eggs and bacon with juice and expresso and the eggs were the weirdest I have ever seen. It almost looked like a mound of bright yellow rice that had been seriously over cooked. The bacon was okay and the bread was standard slices of white bread. I ordered the bread with jams (thinking it would be a nice baguette or other fresh bread) but again it was toasted slices of white bread that looked like wonder bread. If you're looking for breakfast, eating at caffe Mateo was better
Food was mediocre, felt like we were a nuisance to the staff, but the pricing wasn't awful.

They don't offer bread with your meal, but I'm sure you can order. The server gave me a coke even though I didn't order it, so let's see if they charge me. If your visiting Corniglia and looking for a quick bite, bar Nunzia isn't bad!
In the town square of Corniglia where they set up tables under the trees and umbrellas. Compared with other Cinque Terre villages, this small village's cost of living seems lower. One 8 pizza, one bowl of gnocchi and a bottle of beer costed less than €20. I actually really like their gnocchi with pesto sauce.
