The service was friendly and efficient.... read more I was invited by a business friend at lunchtime. Pleasant atmosphere and décor with plenty of space between the tables. The service was friendly and efficient. We both chose the 3-course menu at CHF44.50 with 3 choices for each course. The food was very good and, for Geneva, the price was extremely reasonable. Definitely a restaurant to recommend.

My first night in Geneva, staying in the Paquis District (near the main train station), all I was in the mood for was a green salad and a bowl of hot soup so I... read more My first night in Geneva, staying in the Paquis District (near the main train station), all I was in the mood for was a green salad and a bowl of hot soup so I decided to eat at the Veranda, which looks quite nice from the outside. I ordered a simple green salad, and a bowl of the advertised homemade vegetable soup. Although I certainly wasn't expecting anything gourmet or even delicious, I was surprised at the extremely poor quality of both salad and soup. The salad sauce was straight out of a bottle ( a cheap one!), and the soup was an undersalted broth with what appeared to be compost leftovers floating in it. I love to eat, and am really not picky, AND I was hungry but I had to leave the soup and the salad because they just weren't good. The waiter and waitress were both nice and friendly, the service was quick, the restaurant was relatively clean, but the food - at least the 2 items I ordered - were awful!

We also had a two year old with and the staff knew exactly how to treat children, bringing a snack immediately to the table to avoid restless minds! Staff were brilliant and the food likewise. Fillet steaks were a treat and I would definitely recommend this restaurant - will go back there on my next visit.

The restaurant is at a very convenient spot near the main railway station, as well as a walking distance from the heart of Geneva. The food and wines were great... read more The restaurant is at a very convenient spot near the main railway station, as well as a walking distance from the heart of Geneva. The food and wines were great well enough to feed our tastes. The price we paid for a two person dinner was in the CHF 120 range and that is a very reasonable price for a reaturant dinner in downtown Geneva. Great spot.
