We started with Bruschetta. We had a choice of 3 different kinds, one with tuna or meat or the traditional one with tomatoes. We had the tomato bruschetta. It was very good. Then we went on to chicken parmesan and salmon/pesto pasta. Both were around 10 euros and very good. It was a nice serving size and I was too full to have dessert. Our waiter was terrific and attentive. We were there in the winter so there was no... View all feedback.
What smanolov doesn't like about Ristorante-Pizzeria San Giovanni:
The first indication that made me suspicious when ordering was that nobody in the restaurant knew what all'amatriciana is. For this reason I ordered pizza and it was fine. My gf ordered spaghetti Bolognese. That was the worst Bolognese sauce we ever had! Very little tomato sauce full with granted carrots. It was not eatable and we left it. The garden can be improved as there were spider nets on the fences. Will not r... View all feedback.
During my stay in Vienna, I ate here multiple times. I had a congress in the city center, but had a hotel at the edge of the city, so I was glad to find a place with high quality food and service near my hotel. Even though this place is situated near a busy road, it didn't feel as such. The hedge around the terrace takes care of that. The waiting staff is correct and helpful, quick to spot it when you're ready to order or without a drink. The food is very good, with a mix of classics and original dishes. Interestingly, they also had schnitzels, which seems to be one of the only things the locals would eat. Starters are really good, so don't hesitate to have a full meal here. Coffee is good. All the food is very affordable, so good value for money. If you're in this part of the city, I'd recommend you have lunch or dinner here at least once. It's conveniently located near a tube station. If you're on a budget, you might even want to consider coming out of the city center to dine here. They deserve to be busier.
Fantastic Food and attentive service. The owner and waiters know what they are doing. I cannot emphasise how consistently good the food is. Lovely wines too. Sit down available or take away available. A separate smoking room too. A garden too. On main street. Pizzas very good. My favourite is the Pumpkin Tortellini (Halloween time) the best i've ever tasted. A short walk from the tube stop Ober St Veit line U4 and only 20 mins to Wien Mitte. You won't refret the effort to travel to this place. It seems to be open all the time!
Near to the Ober St. Veit metro station under the shade of old trees you will find this Italian restaurant. Because of the trees the tables in the garden weren't very clean, that is why we ate inside. The atmosphere is OK, the dishes are relatively cheap and the staff is polite. The food was tasty.
We visited this restaurant on our last night in Vienna. Very nice relaxed atmosphere, food and wine were very good, service was great, we sat outside in the garden as it was a nice evening and we left Vienna very happy we had chosen this restaurant which left us with nice memories.
