A warm and friendly spot where locals settle in for the traditional Italian long lunch. Pasta and pizza dishes are good here but you can get a good grill as well as a fresh garden salad if that is your preference View all feedback.
What vitowedge doesn't like about Vecchio Ottocento:
Good pizza but globally I was expecting something better. Ingredients cold on pizza make the pizza cold and so not really enjoyable. The location doesn’t appear particularly clean View all feedback.

We were here for dinner, the terrace was crowded but as it is very big and part of it is in the garden, the atmosphere was still nice. The antipasti (ham+salami) were good and really abundant for the price, the pizza was also very good, the bistecca was rather average. Service was ok regarding the fact that it was crowded. Restaurant inside has airco.
Although very busy, service was nice, kind and quick. Pizza very good: the one who made them is a worldwide known pizzaiolo. The place is big and outside is really nice.
I have an annual business trip in Gavirate. One of the highlights is getting to eat at this place. From all the pizzas in the world I have eaten, the pizza here is the best one I have had so far. That consistently every year. The place has a really good atmosphere as well. Reserve in advance because it is popular. I know Gavirate is a bit in the middle of nowhere, but if you ever are near this place is worth the visit or detour.
