What Nayan Narayanan doesn't like about Alfresco Grand:
Took the cruise as part of an international conference dinner. Was disappoointed by the quality of food ad service. The entertainment program on the ship and on the island was OK. The ship bathroom was dirty. We were on dinner cruise so could only see the skyline of the city at night. Day cruise may offer good view. View all feedback.
I am writing this review while sitting on the sunset tour of the Alfresco Grand. All I can say is that they was live music which was very very OK nothing special about it. And after the live music was over all that they did was play really it's easy dance music. If you are expecting to come to a Cruise which would be peaceful and serene where you could enjoy the marvelous Brahmaguptra river then this is not for you.
Lovely views of the Brahmaputra. Went for the sunset cruise, the sundown cruise and the dinner cruise. The sunset cruise was quite lovely as we had quite a lovely sunset that evening. The sunset cruise was average, although you get to see the city lights at night and it was pouring. The dinner cruise was lovely. They showcased the traditional folk entertainment and it was very pleasant to watch. They had other performers who were singing live and they were genuinely good singers! The food was also very good. The vegetarian and the non-vegetarian dishes were genuinely tasty. However, during the sundown cruise, while standing on the deck, we noticed that they were literally throwing out their trash from the previous cruise right into the Brahmaputra river!!! Isn't the cruise all about being Proud of our culture and preserving the mighty river Brahmaputra? Before the dinner cruise begins, on the projector, they even have a song which has celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, etc singing "Namami Brahmaputra"! I mean ironic isn't it?!?!?!
We took the the sun down cruise and it was amazing to be aboard with the sun leaving the horizon. The mosquitoes were a menace but the ship people tried their best to take care of it. The snacks were good and the coffee was too good.
