sat on Sunday afternoon and we have everything and the meat was so delicious and melted in the mouth. the waitress asked my mammoth if she had a little lazy as the normal lunches are big, my mam had the little lazy. And she couldn't finish it. I guess they're back. View all feedback.

I am a director for older people and in the last 4 years the inhabitants have taken for their Christmas dinner here and never escaped, they all love it and will return this year. I think it was £15 a head for 3 course...lunch,everything is cooked to home and fresh and worth every penny, prawn cocktails will get her salat in it, but also a side salad with it that is too much can be cut off on the salat and put a bit more sauce on it. They are big, they need a lie down. also for Sunday dinner it is busy so book ahead, otherwise they can not get a seat, views are beautiful in all seasons, veg gravy yorkies and meat all perfect had never had a bad meal steves a wonderful cook just was modernized november 2018 so restraunt much warmer now, toilets as not yet modernized but hopefully they will be very kindly there.
Enjoyed a lovely tea and a beer after work, got 2 steaks for £15 in total and they were delicious. The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with a separate bar and dining area. Definitely recommend giving it a try, but make sure to have cash on hand as they don't accept card payments. Don't let that deter you, give it a go!
Having passed it many times before, we decided to call into The Black Horse at Barlow Village for a Sunday lunch and I'm so glad we did. Our concerns around the unwelcoming waitress who frowned at us over the top of her spectacles as I...explained that we did not have a reservation were very quickly forgotten and we were given a table near a window with a simply breathtaking view. Our starters arrived quickly and really were lovely very generous prawn cocktails and what looked to be a nice home made soup. There was a choice of pork, beef, lamb or turkey for mains which arrived with lots of very tasty veg and piping hot gravy thoroughly enjoyable. Lunch for 4 with a round of drinks cost £46 and that really was great value. Will certainly be back !
