Today, I decided to try s... read more I absolutely love this restaurant! Whenever I'm at MetroCentre, I always make sure to stop by for a meal. The staff are very friendly. Today, I decided to try something different and ordered the banoffee milkshake, which was made with fresh banana and lotus biscuit. It was delicious! I also ordered my usual double bacon cheeseburger with some extras, and it was as tasty as ever. I highly recommend trying the Cajun fries if you haven't already - they are amazing, especially with a dollop of mayo. Don't be afraid to get your hands messy and enjoy your meal. If you don't like waiting for freshly grilled food or don't want to get your fingers dirty, then this may not be the place for you. After all, it's a burger joint - what else would you expect?

While my daughter had... read more I wasn't in the mood for a burger and had originally planned to go to Slim Chicken next door, but they had unexpectedly run out of chips! While my daughter had her meal at Slim Chicken (she doesn't like chips), I decided to order from Five Guys online for pickup. When I arrived to pick up my order, the staff mentioned there would be a short wait (which I hadn't even noticed) and offered me a complimentary drink while I waited. The customer service was excellent and the burger (and chips) were very enjoyable.

My wife is vegetarian so opted for the grilled cheese with everything except obviously the bacon , so you can imagine what she felt like when she bit into it to find Bacon not once but even in the replacement. This meant that because i helped her out my over expensive burger was cold by the time i came to eat it !! . The staff were ok although the whole set up seemed to be a bit of a mess. The restaurant was very busy but the organisation was poor and there was a clear lack of leadership When i contacted the customer service in regard to these issues the person replying seemed to be somewhat indifferent , not until the second reply did i get offered a burger voucher worth squat diddly in regard to the £25 we spent for a ruined meal so we certainly wont be hurrying back to the brand and if we do visit it is unlikely it will be the Gateshead branch
