What JohnTDDD doesn't like about Original Ju-town Polish:
I have to admit that I watched a video about this place on Chicago's Best and was excited to try it out. However, I have to give it three stars because of the disappointing customer service. Even though it wasn't busy, they still messed up my order. The sausage itself was decent, but they didn't put as many onions on it as shown in the picture. Honestly, I think Portillos has a better polish sausage. View all feedback.
I had heard about this place and then, by sheer luck, stumbled upon it on the way out of the city. It is located on the ground floor with just a small window for ordering, so don't expect to sit down and eat. However, the lines move quickly. We tried the warm sandwiches, which came with scrambled eggs and a side of coleslaw. The taste was incredible - the sausage was smoky and the scrambled eggs and coleslaw were the perfect complement. The sandwiches were not heavy or greasy, more like a hot dog than the typical sausage sandwiches found at county fairs. The sandwiches also came with crispy and tasty fries. The prices were very reasonable - it was the cheapest meal we had all week. The servers were friendly as well. Overall, a great spot for a classic Chicago meal.
I didn't eat too late, so I ordered a police and double cheeseburger. When I got home and ate it, I started feeling warm and nauseous, and ended up vomiting until I found some relief.
Amazing sausage! Fantastic service! If you enjoy Polish cuisine, definitely check this place out. The menu is small but everything is excellently made. Thank you for the wonderful food!
Where else do they eat after 10 o'clock with kovid restrictions limit their options? cheap, filling decent quality dogs and pommes.
One of the BEST of Chicago eats! This stand is open 24 hours a day and has been serving those delicious Maxwell St. polish for decades! Loved that little snap you get when you bit from a hot dog (it comes with fries). Parking can be tricky but service fast and friendly! It's a must-do if visiting the Windy City!
