I wish I could give 0 stars. I ordered 2 cheese burger cookout trays one with cherry vanilla milkshake I got a small vanilla milkshake no chilly cheese fries a piece of meat no cheese Never Again
I ordered a chicken quesadilla and this is what I received. I have never had such bad food at cookout but this is it for me. What exactly is this? It looks like can chicken mushed into cheese. My three year old looked at it and said it looked yucky.
This restaurant can be inconsistent, varying based on the staff working that day. Some days you may receive a generous portion of hot fries, while other days you may only get a few cold fries and an undercooked chicken sandwich. It's a mixed bag, with a 50/50 chance of having a good meal.
Normally, I enjoy cookout food, but the ordering process here is overwhelming. They’re always busy, and the menu boards are hard to navigate. When I ordered, I had to decide quickly on a big double, then was asked how I wanted it prepared—not in the usual terms like well done or medium, but according to their specific styles. Eventually, I chose “cheddar style.” They move so fast that it makes ordering stressful. When my food arrived, I was disappointed. My big double was actually one patty cut in half and stacked, resulting in a double portion of meat only down the center of the bun, with no meat on the edges. That meant biting from two sides would give only cheddar, onions, and bun, while the other two sides had double meat with cheddar and onions. It’s not a great experience since burgers should have consistent bites all around. I’ll definitely return, but next time I’ll check the menu in advance to be prepared for the quick ordering and to manage my expectations about the burger.
I decided to give Cook Out one last chance, but once again, they messed up. I ordered 5 Cook Out trays and requested no ice in all my drinks, yet they still included ice. I also ordered big double burgers for all the trays, but some came with barbecue sauce, which I never asked for and dislike. The last time I visited this location, I was told drinks cost $2 without the Cook Out tray. I informed the worker I didn’t want a drink, but he insisted it was included in the price, making the Cook Out tray meal $7, which doesn’t make any sense. Every time I’ve come here recently, something goes wrong. I’d rather go hungry than return to this location. It’s frustrating to spend $50-$60 on a meal from Cook Out’s menu only to be consistently disappointed.
