A must go visit place if you visiting the Gorge up in the mountain. Good Bavarian food and great Beer. Even if you visit the winter Olympic stadium at the foot. Take a horse ride up it's totally worth it.
Okay so we did not have a great slap up meal and so my review of this restaurant is solely based on it's deserts. After making the initial trek from the car park near the Olympic Stadium we decided on a charge of the batteries before taking the cable car opposite to the top of the hill and walking through the forest to the far side of the Gorge and then making our way back through. having had a late breakfast neither of us had a hearty appetite and so were just looking for something light. There were choices of starters and a few varieties of soup that raised an eyebrow or two but in the end it was the Apfelstrudel and ice cream that won over (well we needed the sugar for the expedition we were about to undertake). I have to say it was extremely nice and at €4.80 each a bargain. We sat outside in the small garden terrace which is at the front of the gasthof and watched the energetic walkers on their way or those sweaty souls that had completed it on their way back and watching the horse drawn carriages arrive and drop off their cargo. The service was great and a very pleasant young lady was attentive and yet the whole experience was very relaxing.
Found on our way to the Partnachklamm when all the hostelries seemed to be closed. They offer a good choice of hot/cold food and drinks at reasonable prices. The staff were quite helpful helping with my wife's allergy problem. Worth a stop.
They have good local food and good value meals but are closed for the winter due to renovation. Hopefully they´ll be open again in the Spring.
