As such we could only get a night flight into Milan Bergamo which meant after picking up the hire car it would be midnight by the time we arrived on our first night. We contacted the hotel in advance to check that they could accommodate such a late check in and Christine promptly replied letting us know that she’d make sure that our room would be ready and there would be someone there to direct us to it and help with luggage. We arrived at 1am, an hour later than expected due to Ryan air and as promised there was someone there to greet us, and help with check in and out luggage. It was dark but my first impressions of the estate and gardens left me in awe, a wonderful, floodlit majestic old building with mature but beautifully manicured gardens filled with lemon trees and blossoming Bougainvillea set the tone that would remain for the entire vacation. Our package included the basic room and although a little snug it was very clean and charming and with a modern bathroom that was immaculate and a very comfortable bed. We woke to birds singing in the garden in the morning like something from a Disney playbook. As we arrived late and hadn’t eaten since early in previous day we were ready for breakfast. The views afforded to us from outside our room and the terrace that was set up for breakfast if the surrounding hills and of Lake Garda beneath were breathtaking. The breakfast served buffet style was very varied and included fresh fruit and juices, delicious cold meats and cheeses, fluffy scrambled and boiled eggs with crispy Italian bacon, fresh pastries and bread that was still warm from the oven, and much more. There was waiter service for coffees anything else that one needed and it was then that we met Ferdinando and Mohammed. These consummate waiters were so professional that morning and every other breakfast during our stay. Ferdinando would have our cappuccinos promptly on the table as soon as he seen us, he would become our tour guide for our trip offering advice , information and local knowledge on where to go, best way to get there. He was quick witted, a true professional at his craft a shining example of old school hospitality. When I say he really made our trip, I am not exaggerating. We had dinner twice at the hotel and on both occasions it was a gastronomic delight. I never had Culatello di Zibello before (the highest level of prosciutto) or had fresh pasta with the heaping of shaved local truffles and I live in New York City. I was blown away with both the food and service Christina and Annetta on the front desk were so very friendly and helpful too and offered great advice on local attractions and such. I literally can’t wait to visit Ville Montefiore again. I have included some photos of the Hotel, terrace, gardens and meals we had there.
We just left after after a delicious 5 day stay in the second half of June 2022. It was our first proper break for 3+ years and the choice couldn't have been better: We quite literally basked in beauty. The hotel and its grounds were overflowing with colours, fragrance and gorgeous views. The staff was lovely, helpful and kind. We could tell that everyone working in the gardens, the kitchen, at the pool, the reception desk and the restaurant are very invested in taking good care of the place and its guests. We had one of the Tower rooms which was small but pretty and spotless, including the bathroom The air-con did a great job bringing relief from very hot temperatures. Our room and all lake facing rooms have their own outdoor patio to enjoy the breath-taking view over Lago di Garda and are surrounded by lemon trees, oleander, palm trees and Bougainvillea. We also very much enjoyed the cuisine: Every morning we had breakfast at the Restaurant D'Annunzio. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious and if anything was missing the lovely staff would take of it at once. Twice we came for dinner and several times we had lunch at the pool, all equally delicious. All in all a feast for the senses and perfect for a romantic time-out with good price-quality balance. I should add that we're well aware that 2 years of Covid have been hard for a family-owned hotel such as Ville Montefiori. I'm glad they survived thus far and am happy to support them with our holiday and hope other guests will do the same. We loved every second and will be back for sure. (Be prepared to climb some stairs, but it's worth it!
The place it's absolutely stunning, from the property,to the view and the peaceful atmosphere is unmatched! The amenities were clean, well taken care of and the staff was cordial, welcoming and tries their best to help regardless of the fact that they were understaffed. I travelled solo from the 29th to the 31st of August. I was supposed to stay at the property from the 28th till the 30th,but due to unforeseen circumstances I had to reschedule last minute and the staff was understanding and changed my dates with no extra fees. I can't really point out anything significantly negative of my stay. The spa was beautiful and I was welcomed by the warmth jovial Deilda, who even took pictures of me and made my first day at the property wonderful. I thank the entire staff for their work their politeness from the receptionists to the maintenance assistant who I pleasantly exchange conversations at the outdoor pool. I will definitely be back soon. (Room 216)
It is a romantic hotel and has beautiful views of the ocean. My room is decorated with a regal theme. It has a great length swimming pool, Jacuzzi, massage parlour, etc, which is well maintained. The chef produces excellent quality food, which is renewed every day.
Potenziale altissimo , ci siamo sempre trovati bene, cucina curata, camere belle,se curato un po’ di più e con gli investimenti giusti potrebbe essere una struttura super lussuosa… comunque consigliato , viste panoramiche mozzafiato.
