Thw food from Sawa is always great! 10 for 10 would recommend! This is not a complaint about the server whatsoever, she handled a large group of like 14 people really well. But if you come in a group of 14 people to dine tell your server ahead of time that you are splitting your check, the server had to go back and forth like 5 times to make sure she split the bill correctly. Perfectly acceptable Pad Thai, really delicious Shanghai Greens with Bamboo Shoots and Black Mushrooms, excellent Fried Green Beans. Fine Sweet Potato maki, warm and crunchy the way it should be. Our server was friendly, effective, and patient. It's dark. There's a bar with a couple TVs behind it as you come in, but the volume was reasonable and we couldn't hear them from our table. I want to go back and try the Eggplant and Tofu. Vegetarian options: I have no idea if the sauces were vegetarian. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and my mostly-veggie friends were pleased. Had lunch here and towards the middle of our meal had a cockroach crawl on our table. I’ve never had that happened to me so I was in disbelief. My husband went and told the manager about it who proceeded to grab a napkin and kill the roach. He then offered to move us to another table or bring a box so we can take our meals to go. I told him we were all set and were ready to leave. Bill came in right away. I was shocked since I feel any decent place wouldn’t have charged us for a meal we were not able to enjoy. I’m 7 months pregnant and had a stomach ache for the rest of the day. I was a little worried I would get food poisoning.
