After 3 days of heavy but very tasty Lyonnaise dining it was a pleasant surprise to find fresh local ingredients with an French/Asian fusion presentation. The atmosphere was low key and welcoming to non-French speaking guests. The waiter and bartender were more than happy to explain the menu and made us feel comfortable dining with the locals. If you are traveling in eastern France don't skip Gap. It is a real town with enjoyable people and amazing dining experiences.

We arrived in Gap tonight and looked for a nice restaurant and were invited by Vadim to come to Le Bistrot Gapencais. Vadim, his brother and cousin know how Hospitality is meant to be and do everything to make you feel welcome. The Chef is excellent and we really enjoyed both food and atmosphere. This is our first time in Gap but the dining made us fall in love with the town. Definitely recommended!

I chose this restaurant having found that the Office du Tourisme nearby had just closed for lunch. I had the plat du jour, tuna steak with sesame seeds and chopped tomatoes with mixed vegetables and rice followed by a dessert. Good value and well served. It was quite busy with peope from the nearby offices and Court.

A small bistro, which has a fairly small menu (although there are specials) which is simple but attractive. The atmosphere is welcoming and there is a good selection of wines (and rums) to chose from. I had the large entracote which was undercooked to perfection and a nice bottle of red (around £15). Patrick the owner adds the final ingredient with his good humour and knowledge. Give it a try!!

During our stay in the distance several people advised us this establishment, quite well located, difficult to find a parking ... many people, a simple but pleasant decoration ! , a service a little hesitant by the lack of professionalism a small card 'as I want! dishes served in plates of good quality and retro, our choice vegetarian risotto ... bof ,wok of very light chicken without really taste , beef tartare with Italian damage that some ingredients dominate , dessert brioche way 'lost with an ice ball as 'bof! a very good cdr wine, all for more than 30 € per person I didn’t think to find such rates in this city, maybe we were wrong about the establishment. because there is much better and cheaper...
