Description

An intimate Gansbaai restaurant balances a warm, inviting atmosphere and an impressive wine list with standout dishes—chocolate fondant, braised lamb shank, springbok carpaccio and beef espetada. Service ranges from exceptionally friendly (with memorable servers) to inconsistent reservation handling and slow kitchen turnaround. Prices sit above the local average; ample free parking makes visits easy. Ideal for special occasions and family dinners, but book ahead and expect occasional delays or uneven dishes.

The food and service were terrible. My salad was not fresh; it had an unpleasant taste and smell, so I couldn't eat it. I informed the waitress, who just told me that she would pass it along and that they were sorry. However, no one ever came to apologize or check on us. My husband ordered the seafood stew, which was bland except for a hint of chili flavor. It was supposed to come with ciabatta, but what we received was just a slice of toast. When he asked for more bread, they informed him there was no more toast available. I won't be returning. I chose this place based on the positive reviews, only to have the opposite experience.
