We spent 4 nights in Stockholm and ate here at least once every day. For breakfast they have a very European sandwich with ham, cheese, tomato, and cucumber. Just ask for gluten free bread and they’ll make yours fresh in the back. The bread is lovely. Far superior to anything I’ve had in the US. It has little bits of carrot baked in to help with moisture. What Lucretia333 doesn't like about Under Kastanjen Hb:
They have glutenfree burgers, seafood stew, etc. plus one glutenfree beer (menu says three, but two where out when we are there, . Pasta cannot be offered glutenfree. Staff is knowledgable, but I was served the wrong dish at first!!!! They served the got cheese starter with rehular bread at first despite all my explanations about the importance of glutenfree. I got the Swedish meatballs without issue. They also had a separate case for GF sweets, but I did not try them. I was happy to be able to have Swedish meatballs in Sweden!
Went here based on all of the positive reviews. We have actually been twice now, once for dinner and then for breakfast/kaffe. They are very knowledgeable and take gf very seriously. For the dinner, I had the Swedish meatballs and they were delicious. It was so exciting to have meatballs and not have to worry!! Will definitely be back a third time. This has been my favorite restaurant in Stockholm this far.
Delicious Swedish meatballs and grilled sandwiches on the biggest GF bread. Was so good it was hard to believe it was GF
To be able to eat Swedish meatballs is exciting! Really delicious. Lots of dessert choices. Don’t go between 4 and 5pm as they are changing between lunch /dinner and you can only get a coffee /dessert.
Nice selection of GF and maintained on separate side from gluten pastries. Was expecting more of a restaurant than a pastry heavy cafe but our son who has Celiac had two slices of lemon cake and we enjoyed ours as well. Keep it up!
