If you live or vacation on Galveston's West End this is a solid choice for pizza. Their website makes ordering very easy, plus the pizza is ready when promised. I asked for extra crispy and it was perfect. I would have went 5 stars but the pizza is a little to doughy for my taste.. A solid choice for pizza on the Island. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mario's Pizza:
Mario's on the hill used to be our favorite pizza spot, but now I wouldn't recommend it. We ordered two pizzas and a pasta dish over the phone for pick-up. They told us it would be ready in an hour, which was fine for a Friday night. When we arrived, the lobby was crowded with customers waiting for their orders. It took an additional 40 minutes before we received our food. The pizza was cold and the pasta was just ok... View all feedback.
The pizza was cold and the pasta was just okay. The customer service was lacking, with the kitchen staff appearing unmotivated. The front staff was overwhelmed, struggling to answer the phone, take new orders, and hand out completed orders. They weren't very friendly either. I suggest avoiding the hassle and trying another restaurant on the island.
I was extremely let down by Marios. This used to be our go-to pizza place for our yearly visits to Galveston. I will not be returning. Normally, the longer wait time indicates quality, but this time it was far from the case. We placed our order at 7:18 and didn't get our food until 9:50 on Tuesday. It was absurd. The pizza arrived cold and the quality was unacceptable. In the end, my kids ended up eating peanut butter sandwiches and throwing half of it away.
We placed our order and were told it would be ready for pickup in approximately 60 minutes. Since it was a holiday weekend, we expected to wait. After waiting for over an hour, we went inside the restaurant to wait. The woman at the register was immediately rude, informing us that our food was not ready and would take at least 20 more minutes. There was no explanation or apology given. There were several other customers also waiting for their orders. We waited a total of 30 minutes for our two pizzas and garlic bread. If the service had been more customer-friendly, we might consider returning in the future. However, based on this experience, we will not be coming back.
This is easily some of the best pizza I had. We have an Italian fanterie pizza joint that we at home often considered my favorite pizza until I gave this guy a try. They really bleed my mind, the pizza is cheesy and greasy (possible in the best way) and the crust is so soft, but crunchy from point to crust is almost incredible? This pizza was so good that we packed them twice on our weekend visit.
I do not recommend this place at all. The pizza was very oily. That 's unhealthy to put that much oil on a pizza. It tasted strange. The delivery driver was very rude and angry. He banged on my door like he was the police. I didn 't even have an extra minute to get to the door before he banged even harder. I was expecting 45 minutes to arrive. He was early by 25 minutes so I wasn 't yet expecting him, then he took my receipts not giving me enough time to sign or give him a cash tip. He was so rude he didn 't say goodbye he just grabbed the receipts then left dropping his pizza bag. A part of me didn 't want to tell him, but I 'm just not that type of person. I ordered delivery because I wasn 't feeling well to go out too exhausted, and now I 'm worried he 's going to force my signature and give himself a tip. I hope that 's not the case. If you 're a manager reading this please make sure the heavy built Caucasia man in maybe his 40s didn 't want me to sign. He was so aggressive and angry, I just gave him the receipts, scared he was going to physically harm me. He kept saying, I need the receipt now. Give me the receipt. I need the receipt. He said it repeatedly while I was holding the pizza and I was going to get the cash to for him, but the level aggression I decided to just give it to him. He 's not meant to work customer service.
