Blake's Bistro - Galveston

We tried the fish tacos, and they were just okay, nowhere near as good as our previous experiences. The fish was overcooked and lacked flavor. The slaw was minimal, just a few strands of cabbage. The sauce was piled on so thick that we ended up needing forks to eat the tacos. It felt more like, "Would you like some fish with that sauce?" On a positive note, the fries and the key lime pie were fantastic! I believe they can do better, and we plan to return!

I visited for the first time and it was fantastic! The food was delicious, and I enjoyed a wonderful meal.

This is a luxurious hotel in San Luis. We had a wonderful time visiting and dining here, especially during the Christmas holidays when the hotel was beautifully decorated. The food was delicious, and our waitress was friendly and attentive. Though our drinks took a little while to arrive because the bar was busy, we didn't mind waiting since the food was so excellent. The ambiance was truly five-star. We were surprised to see so many other guests out on Christmas night, just like us. Overall, we had a lovely experience.

There were many servers and few customers so you would think the service would be good, but it was terrible. The prime rib was over cooked. The server would disappear for long periods of time. Took 10 minutes to get soup spoons, 15 minutes for steak knives, 30 plus minutes for a glass of wine.... We were hoping for a great Christmas meal, but were very disappointed.
