Bombay And Buffet - Gallup
Bombay And Buffet
Description
Nestled on I-40 at the NM–AZ border, this unassuming truck-stop Indian eatery is a hidden gem for highway travelers. Standout dishes—Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, biryani and garlic naan—are reliably flavorful, with bold spice options and complimentary chai or good coffee. Staff are friendly and portions generous; truckers praise ample parking, cheap fuel and complimentary showers with fill-up. The stop feels dated and some restrooms smell or lack soap, but overall the food and hospitality keep customers coming back.

The biryani here is really good. Most of their dishes are quite delicious, and I wish more people would try them. However, the truck stop itself is very dirty; the bathrooms are rarely clean, and there’s no soap available for handwashing, among other issues.
This is a lovely little spot. The staff were friendly and respectful. I would definitely stop by again if I’m in the area.
This is a great place! They offer the cheapest fuel along the entire Highway 40. Plus, when you fill up your truck with 65 gallons, you get a complimentary shower.
Surprise to find Indian Restau in a small town on the NM AZ border of i40. Nothing less than a hidden gem. Very nice people. I only took discworm and Roha roti, and it was so good. Chai is unbelievable. I'll take my break. You should set up larger signs near the road.
