Blake's Lotaburger - Gallup

Really, really good! So much food and a great price! I was stuffed!

Passing through and noticed this small drive inn burger joint so I decided to try it . Bunch of young guys running it , I figured they would mess up my order because it was a group of young guys , nope they got it right . The food was yummy , I had a double with hatch green chilis and fries . The burger was awesome and the Hatch pepper was a great touch .

Blake's Lotaburger is a must stop if you're in Gallup. There are still a few in New Mexico and Arizona. Blake's is one of the few remaining old time hamburger stands. A basic menu, nothing fancy, serving really good juicy hamburgers. You'll think that you time warped back to the early 1950's before fast food restaurants all became marketing slick. Also, roasted green chillies are a big thing in New Mexico, you can order them on most anything you eat, and they are really really tasty, so I can understand why.

The burgers are good and depending on the green chili it can be very hot or mild it's great for lunch or dinner time. And the only place that severe breakfast all day put when in a rush they make the burritos all crappy and sometimes even get ur order wrong which is frustrating.

I am reducing my review from five stars to two. When I called to place my order, the woman who took it was not friendly at all. When I went to pick up my order, I received something completely different—it seemed like I had someone else's order, even though my receipt was attached to the bag. After driving back to the restaurant to get my order remade, I found that one of the breakfast burritos had just a single piece of bacon in it. This location used to have the friendliest staff and the best food, but it has unfortunately declined.
