The food here is truly excellent, and the prices are unbeatable. The delicate sandwich is enormous, incredibly crispy, and not greasy at all. The fresh fried mushrooms are a must-try. The waitress was a bit over bearing. She took our order without writing it down. By the time she took the 3rd order of the 4, she was getting the orders confused. When our food arrived one of the orders was wrong. The cup of soup never came. The potato chips that were ordered were French fries. Not wanting to make a stink we ate what she brought. I stopped by this restaurant after visiting my nephew with my sister and her husband. The atmosphere reminded me of the TV show "Cheers." The food was fantastic! I ordered the loaded potatoes and garlic parmesan wings, while my sister had the ribs and buffalo chicken with fries and garlic toast. Her husband chose the lemon pepper chicken breast, which came with a side salad and homemade chips. The margaritas were really good and priced under $5, which is a great deal. It seems like a popular spot, as it opened at 11:00 AM and people kept coming in. I will definitely visit again and highly recommend it if you’re ever in Galesburg.
When we came in we sat ourselves because no one was around and then we were ignored for abt 10 min before someone asked us if we had been helped yet.Careless staff, ran out of ribs 3 hours before they closed, didn’t bring appetizer until after food because they forgot. Forgot a side to my husband’s meal and when we asked about it the waitress lied and said they were out of that side. Later we seen it on other plates coming out of the kitchen.
I cannot recommend this restaurant due to numerous negative reviews regarding slow service and rude staff.
Once a staple in Galesburg, this restaurant has unfortunately declined significantly. I spent $30 and received only 6 mushrooms and 8 wings. After working in the food industry for over 25 years, I’m embarrassed to admit I worked here years ago, especially considering how poor the quality has become.
Update: THEY NEED A NEW COOK! The one they have now will cook sausage that smells bad, put it in your food, he will admit the sausage has gone bad, but they 'll still charge you for the food. I come here a lot and the food has been on the decline. I however do not come until evenings so that is all I can tell you about. The waitress was wonderful however!The portions are MUCH smaller. The soup and half sandwich was small, the bowl was a cup, the soup was cold, separated and barely edible. They 've taken so much off the menu that I suggest you call ahead if time to make sure they still have what you want. Hopefully they will answer the phone for you.
