Nice place good food…had a few things… ordered chips salsa… very tasty but only a few tablespoons of delicious salsa came with it charged $1 for very small amount extra salsa… will go again but probably won’t get chips salsa again… View all feedback.
What Candy S doesn't like about Market House H.p.:
Climb a steep set of stairs and turn right where a closed door holds a sign saying you arrived. Friday at 5:30 pm in downtown Galena, no place to park, so busy outside, and this place is all but dead. Should have been a clue to turn and run. But a couple down at the front entrance had just left and said the food was great. Now I wonder if they were related to the owner. I wanted something simple, so I ordered a chees... The food left much to be desired, but the waitress was awesome, and their beers are really good.
Luis is fantastic and so on top of things. My fiance and I had a burger and it was so fresh and tasty. Highly recommend as travel photographer from Galena.
The food did not taste good! I ordered a burger and the bun was so soggy and the patty fell apart when eating. The crab and the potato salad were both warm, so they were unpleasant to eat. My mom ordered the duck tenders on a salad, which seemed fine. The fries were soggy and the portions were small. Not worth the price! Service was slow even though we were the only group waiting for our order. I saw a couple waiting for a long time for their check (they were clearly ready to leave) before they had to track down the server to pay. We waited a long time for the food, and also waited too long for the check. Our server never came back to bring us the check and we had to flag down a different server to pay.
Best rueben sandwhich my wife or i ever had. We tried to think of one that came close but couldnt. I would eat here again.
My husband and I came here in 2011 for our anniversary. We had Rose and she was just the sweetest!
