Nicnic - Galaţi

Steps from the Danube. Nice location with indoor and terraze seating on floors. Strictly Romanian dishes. Pleasant service.

This is a restaurant very well located since you have a very nice view on the Danube River. The food is not bad and also not very expensive, but unfortunately the personnel is moving quite slow and that is why sometimes the place is loosing...it charm.

Given its location (surrounded by other restaurants) you would expect this place to be pretty awesome, looks nice, nice outdoor terrace, place looks really well kept. Sat down and asked for a beer, despite the tap on the bar they didn't have draught beer available...(maybe they only provide this in summer) Ordered the meat platter and specifically asked for no cucumber (ordered by a Romanian speaker too) sure enough the food arrived with cucumber (lots). Waitress acknowledged this by laughing, apologising and then just walking away. Both dishes were OK, but the marmaliga was cold and a bit too chewy (maybe I have been spoilt in the restaurants I have visited this trip) Overall I would recommend trying one of the many other food places in this area, plenty to choose from.

Good staff offering good fish dishes, cooked Romanian style. Service OK, smiling waiters. Outdoor seating during the spring,summer and fall. Other fish restaurants within its area.
