Contribute FeedbackDon Jorge's offers a Tex-Mex dining experience with a cozy environment and live music on Friday nights. The food was mostly delicious, with highlights of seafood soup and pork chunks. Some dishes were criticized for being too salty or lemony. The margaritas were overly sweet but improved with an extra shot of tequila. Despite some slow service, the staff were attentive and accommodating. Customers enjoyed the live singer but found the volume too loud. Overall, Don Jorge's is recommended for delicious food, great service, and a fun atmosphere.
Everything was good except food. My girlfriend thought that enchiladas had too much cheese and seafood platter had too much lemon. Otherwise everything was nice.
Overall the food was good. I ordered the chicken chimichanga and felt it was too salty. Also it was more like a Burris than a chimichanga. Would have liked it more crispy and fried. My husband enjoyed his steak and kids liked the fajitas. My main complaint is that the live singer was way too loud. I couldn’t hear anything anyone was saying. They need to turn the speaker volume down.
We chose Don Jorge's at the last minute as there were not a lot of choices on a Saturday night. The reviews looked good, so we gave it a try. We are so glad we did! If you like Tex-Mex food, this is the place to go. There was a DJ that also sang and had a surprisingly good voice. The decor is simple yet clean. And the food was great. Everything we tried was perfect including the freshly made salsa. If you are in the mood for Tex-Mex, I would highly recommend Don Jorge's!
Really good food I had a dish of pork chunks that had been simmered in a house blend of spices al cubano. It was so very tender. Service was very attentive except at desert time when there were many more diners. The desert, sopapillas, was chewy and sweet, a perfect ending.
We keep coming back to this place. Service, food and the décor are wonderful. It's Gaithersburg's hidden secret!
