the menu has authentic dishes , but the choice is very limited and is only adjusted once per season . If you stay in the hotel , after 2 days you've completed the whole choice of the menu . View all feedback.
L'Ultimo Mulino is a beautiful piece of history, restored to perfection. The old mill wheel has been removed but the original building now houses hotel rooms, a dining room, a terrace and an outdoor swimming pool. The food is top notch; simple, carefully prepared and absolutely delicious. It is about 15 minutes away from Radda.
Having had two superb dining experiences at local restaurants and after having arrived back at our villa too late to organize dinner, we opted for the nearest dining room, the restaurant at Albergo L'Ultimo Mulino. The relatively busy main dining room was far too bright and tight, so we asked the staff to allow us to eat on an adjacent terrace under a wisteria covered pergola. After some gentle cajoling, they acquiesced and bought out the white tablecloths. It was a wonderful setting on the late summer night and our Eastern European waitresses were charming and attentive. Unfortunately, the limited menu and more limited wine list made it obvious that L'Ultimo Mulino probably concentrates its energy and resources of the accommodations and hospitality as opposed to food service. Nonetheless, there were a few high points on the menu, including the pasta Bolognese and the surprising array o very good desserts. But, overall, considering the options in Chianti, there would be no reason to dine at L'Ultimo Mulino, but there may well be good reason to stay there.
