If It Is Kitchen&café - Gainesville

Finding parking can be a bit challenging, but the food is excellent and fresh. I visited on a Monday when it wasn't very busy, so I was seated right away and received my food promptly after placing my order.

I absolutely adore this restaurant! The food is fantastic and the service is excellent. While it is on the pricier side, I believe it is worth every penny. The standout appetizers are definitely the crab rangoon and spring rolls. In my opinion, the best dish is the pad Thai, although I also really enjoyed the panang curry, drunken noodles, and any variety of fried rice. The picture I shared is of the drunken noodles, which honestly had more chicken than noodles, and it was packed with vegetables!

I used to really enjoy the original If It Is Cafe, but this time I ordered from a collaboration between HASS and If It Is while the latter's new location is being built. I'm really disappointed with the food. We ordered avocado rolls and veggie gyoza as appetizers, along with panang and massaman curry for our main courses. The appetizers were decent, but the main dishes were quite disappointing, and we couldn’t finish them. I really hope they return to their original flavors at the new location.

I am shocked how awful the food was. The spring rolls were ok but had tiny amount of filling. The basil chicken was inedible. I have had this dish that's why ordered and it was so nasty. Even the chicken with peanut sauce was lacking but to be fair not as disgusting like the other dish. Total waste if money.

Absolutely love the flat noodles with tofu I got- Great flavoring freshly cooked and the food was hot! I got to share some of my boyfriends drink he had ordered the blackberry Mojito and that was also phenomenal! They have a good variety for alcoholic drinks as well as vegetarian options- we will be back for sure! My only suggestion would be to have some paper menus available if possible, but otherwise great find!
