I had a family member who picks up cake for me since I was in overseas. that was for a very special occasion that I could not visit, my great-mother 90th birthday. the cake pop-pondant color was bleed into the white icing, the fondant flowers were not clean cut they are so chaotic, some of the cake pots were cracked and the #90 on the cake pots were also runny. This was exactly what I was craving! It had a genuine chocolate flavor and a perfect brownie texture. It would pair wonderfully warm with ice cream. I'll definitely be ordering this again!
Beware, these cupcakes are seriously addictive! They are by far the best cupcakes I've ever tasted!
Typically, cupcakes are packaged in boxes, so I was taken aback to find them in plastic containers.
First off, having lived in both Orlando and Jacksonville, I have had Sweet by Holly (winner of cupcake wars) many times...and I will say these are as good, if not even better. I personally think any bad reviews come from bad taste; As these are exceptional! The cake itself has a perfect balance moistness and density...this is not your moms cupcakes! The frosting...oh my! REAL butter cream! Not the fake butter cream you find on supermarket cakes. The right amount of sweetness with the buttery saltiness...perfection!! I picked up a half dozen today, as we tried a Ocala's cupcake shop last week. ...and there was no comparsion! This will be our only place for cupcakes now!
Both times we've stopped by GiGis the guy behind the counter was super friendly and very informative about all of the cupcakes offered. They were all so good and we make it a point to stop by when in Gainesville.
