This is one of the finest restaurants in Gainesville. Their steak is exceptional. We also tried a few seafood dishes, and they were all fantastic. The outdoor seating in the beautiful garden is perfect for the spring weather. Each entrée includes two sides, all of which were delicious. The wine selection is impressive as well. It's a wonderful place to celebrate special occasions. I will definitely return. View all feedback.
What chandler sonja doesn't like about Embers Wood Grill:
The wine selection is superb. They have a sommelier on staff for any wine suggestions or questions. The employees are super friendly! Great ambiance inside that invites you inn. The presentation of the food was spot on, but the texture and taste of the three steak options we tried are on par with an outback Steakhouse but pricey. In my opinion unless you want a great place to sample wine in Gainesville. Save your mon... View all feedback.
We chose The Embers to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday based on a previous visit while we were in Gainesville. The food, wine, and server were superb. We were a bit surprised to learn they raised their hefty $35/btl corkage fee to an exorbitant $50/btl fee. The wine we chose off their list was absolutely divine. We hope it's still on their list next visit.
I ordered the scallops and was very disappointed, because 2 out of the 5 scallops I was given had an ammonia taste. When there is an ammonia taste it indicates that they are starting to go bad. I told the waiter and nothing was done to compensate for the issue. I was charged the full $50 for bad scallops. That is not how you treat customers when they are given spoiled food. I also was there with 7 people, our bill was very large, so I was extremely surprised that it was acceptable to charge for rotten food. Lastly, one person in our party was celebrating a birthday and nothing was sent out to acknowledge their birthday. I found this strange too. Most good restaurants send out some kind of dessert with a candle. I will never go back to this place again. It was overpriced, served spoiled food and did not honor a special occasion in any way. Very disappointing.
It's was nice but the tables were really close together so it didn't make for much of a romantic setting but the service was top notch.. Good service makes everything worth it!! The best thing on my plate was the fried cheese they put on my salad, I couldve ordered a plate of those and a side of the black olives and been happy p- the price for the food was very expensive and the food was just ok
Absolutely the best restaurant I’ve had the opportunity to dine in this decade. I travel 6 months of the year, eat out 6 months of the year. Courtney Victor were both exceptional… I can’t say enough positive things about this fantastic restaurant.
We have dined at Embers on several occasions. Never experienced anything other than great food till this week. My husband had the duck breast which made him sick all night. Not sure why? My meal of salmon risotto was very bland. Prior to writing this review tried to contact Embers at no avail, answering service only. Left message, no return call. Just wanted to inform them to avoid no one else getting sick.
