Not sure what happened with this place, have always had an amazing experience in the past. Past two visits we have waited almost 2 hours for low quality food that does not match the menu description. Service is still wonderful. But food is too expensive to be playing with quality. Doubt we will be back. View all feedback.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere! Being from out of town, we checked the reviews and were so glad we did! This place was amazing! We were able to visit with the owners and chef and they gave us the history of their restaurant and town square. Loved getting to learn about this great little place. Will definitely be back. Thanks for a great experience! The 5 with cool new t shirts
We were taking a drive from Cookeville over to Defeated Creek today and drove through Gainesboro. Decided to find a place to eat lunch. Stopped at The Bull Thistle to find an awesome atmosphere, friendly service, and great food. We got to meet the owners and learn a little about the building. We don’t come up this way very often but when we do, we will definitely be back to this restaurant.
We went there for the third time ordered a steak medium. It came out rare when I tasted it. It was really good then they took it back and cooked. It medium for me and it tasted metallic so they gave me choice of pasta pasta with chicken pasta with crab, and I chose the pasta with crab, I got the pasta with chicken that was terrible. It tasted like pasta with mayonnaise. The waitress was exceptional. No reflection on her she was really good I asked the manager and when I saw that the steak was still on the check and he said he wasn’t refunding my money because 10 other steaks had gone out and they were excellent and I said well mine wasn’t it was in the beginning and then I had that metallic taste and it was well done. I asked for medium, so I am never going back there again and I’m gonna tell every person I meet how bad it was and how I was treated by the manager
A great place to visit, highly recommend. Food is great, live music, friendly staff and good drinks.
Very well designed layout of the restaurant. The food was fantastic, but what was even more impressive was the presentation of each entrée. The service was also fantastic very apologetic if anything went wrong and compensated you on your check if so. Would highly recommend anyone traveling 45 minutes to an hour to definitely come here. It took us 45 minutes to get here and it was well worth it. Keep it up Bull and Thistle!
