If you're looking for a hearty lunch, be sure to try the delicious meatloaf! It's fantastic! And don't miss out on the sweet potato bread pudding for dessert—it's a must-try! — at Willie's Good Eatin.
Stopped in at Willie's at noon Friday based on the local buzz. Ordered tomato pie which was served with mixed greens. After 10 minutes, the only waitress informed me they were out of salad and couldn't get anymore till after 3 o'clock. Lack of lettuce knocked out several other dishes I might have chosen. I asked if the chicken and sausage gumbo was available. She told me it should be because they froze it and warmed it up. So I ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo with focaccia bread. As I waited, a couple behind me from Atlanta were told that they did not have ribs which were also on the menu. That's what they had come for, so they left. The second couple who sat at the table behind me were told that they did not have shrimp for the shrimp and grits on the menu. They opted for hamburger steak. When my lukewarm gumbo arrived, the focaccia bread turned out to be a slice of ordinary BBQ bread with sesame seeds. The gumbo had a good flavor.
