This places is bananas, b, a n a n a s. Also the mister waiter is super kind and lovely.
Food was simply amazing. Prawns with garlic was heavenly. Pulled pork sandwich with pineapple had a great herbs and butter taste to the bread with really well cooked pork. Tuna ceviche was fresh and soft. The 3 plates were just enough as a proper meal for 2 persons. Snacks are more like tapas size (a good portion) than ‘snacks’. The poncha classic and passion fruit drinks were great flavour too. Service was excellent right from the start from when they welcome us, to serving us shared plates and being friendly and they speak great English. Atmosphere has great chill vibes, with good music and good nature plants around in a backyard area. Overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!
We booked here for our first night in Funchal and our valentines celebration. What a disappointment. Despite booking a month ahead, we were seated in a very cold and draughty outside area. We sat huddled with our coats on. The food is not great, very pretentious and overly stylised. Small portions, little flavour. The fried fish stuck into a pile of lime flavoured risotto was a weird and unappetising combination. The grey potato purée was also unappealing. The service was far too quick, meaning we were done in 50 minutes. So much for our romantic valentines evening.
