So disappointed today (sat) to find Opan closed. Was so surprised couple of days ago when I vsited first at the quality and price of cake and coffee here. Delicious. Check it out.
We always go to an Opan coffee and pastry shop plenty of choice .good service and seating area inside and out.
We never went shopping for breakfast groceries during our stay – and this is the reason why. Delicious “torradas” – with your bread of choice- and freshly brewed coffee for a very reasonable price. No wonder why so many locals come here to have their breakfast. You can also buy “salgadinhos” for a quick and tasty lunch. Try any of the many Opan locations in Funchal and you won’t be disappointed.
We visited the Opan coffee shop quite a few times whilst on holiday over our two week stay. The one near the Forum in Funchal. The staff are very efficient and friendly! The coffee was lovely but very strong so we always asked for some extra hot milk to make it to our taste. My husband loved the egg custard tart and I particularly enjoyed the lemon flavoured individual egg custard. Good value and always fresh. The young waitress who took orders if you were sat down was very polite and friendly and is an assett to this establishment. Her name is Laura. We would highly recommend you pay a visit if you are staying near here.
