Food was extremely tasty, we chose the selection of cheese and meats to start with along with the local bread. Wife had mussels and myself the Portuguese steak for main course both very good. There was a wide choice of wine, the decor is very smart and modern. The friendliness and pleasantness of the staff completes it making it and enjoyable experience, don't let any other poor reviews cloud your view or to stop you paying a visit. Highly recommend Madmarket and its a place you shouldn't miss,

The food was excellent,... read more We found this restaurant by accident but we’ll worth looking for. It is upstairs in a shopping centre so you need to know where to look. The food was excellent, real Portuguese food. I had the octopus, it was excellent and I hadn’t seen it anywhere else in Madeira but had had it before in the algarve, would definitely recommend this dish, my husband had Portuguese steak which was also excellent. The restaurant is in a deli store, so really interesting. You can buy any wine you want from the shop and have it with your dinner, they do charge 10 euros corkage. As we didn’t want a bottle I had a glass and they bring you a choice and let you taste before deciding which one you want. The staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful, we hadn’t booked but they made room for us and we didn’t have to wait long. The staff were wearing hats which I thought was a bit strange as it was very warm , particularly with it being inside, I asked if it was a particular type of Portuguese hat for some reason, but there seemed to be no reason. Great restaurant definitely recommend.

A very modern looking venue upstairs in a small mall. Food was fresh and delicious.
