I got the vegetarian Ravioli, they were lukewarm and dried at the edges, after finishing my plate I noticed a worm in the remaining sauce. Fair to say I was disgusted. Even tho I usually never complain, I had to tell the waiter, who without a word took my plate to the kitchen, only to come back and offer me a free desert no thank you . We had to pay for the entire meal and left. I threw up an hour later. Never !! again.

We went back for the pizza, which I would not recommend, as we had much better pizza elsewhere. The staff were very nice and friendly.

Food was presented be... read more Came here the night before we left for UK. Also our 27th wedding anniversary. My wife had the scabbard fish and I had the steak on a spit. Food was presented beautifully but fish and beef were lukewarm. My wife had sickness and diarrhoea during the night and I felt unwell. Very disappointed. Serve your food hot and worry less about how the food looks on the plate. Or do both. Will edit if it turns out to be food poisoning.

Found this gem in a back street just behind our apartment. We ended up going there 3 times during our week stay in Funchal and especially out last evening meal.... read more Found this gem in a back street just behind our apartment. We ended up going there 3 times during our week stay in Funchal and especially out last evening meal. Great family run restaurant with superb staff, food and prices. A complimentary glass of Madeira after the meal. Totally recommended.
