We had so much luck to have this restaurant next to our hotel. we went there the first two nights and wanted to visit last night, but unfortunately it was booke... read more We had so much luck to have this restaurant next to our hotel. we went there the first two nights and wanted to visit last night, but unfortunately it was booked with two big birthday parties so there was no place for us. both of us had a table with sea view and jessica was our server. She was fantastic! we were very hungry both paints (we usually do not eat lunch, if on not all inclusive holiday) so we had local brot that was roasted to perfection with olive oil and olives and scabbard fish in mandel (commended by jessica) with a bottle of house white wine. it was an amazingly delicious meal. everything was very fresh and delicious. in the first night we had also a local dish that was nothing special so that we did not order it next time. By the way, this sausage remover was our only meat bite in our 8 days on madeira. I'm really disappointed that we couldn't go to aconchego at our last night and don't try, oktopus. I can't recommend this place enough. it deserves its high rating on tripadvisor 22/600 restaurants in madeira). we will definitely return to madeira because we have fallen in love with it and we will surely be back at aconchego. but I will book it in advance.

If you want a casual dine-in restuarant away from the tourist hotspot in the heart of Funchal, this restaurant is well worth a consideration!
