My family and I always come here when we visit Funchal. A lovely stop for drinks, ice creams and best of all, the fabulous cheese meat boards. Such friendly staff, a gorgeous walk along the levada to reach this cafe and it is fantastic value for money. We will be back! View all feedback.

On the Levada dos Piornais walk close to Funchal. We've enjoyed the walk 3 times now and each time spent half an hour here. If you find the start of the Levada, close to the upper end of the main stadium to the west of Funchal, then you'll eventually walk straight in to this cafe; it's about a third of the way along so is perhaps a better place to catch on the way back. Called in tonight, 05/02/19 at 17;15. It looked scruffy, with disinterested bar staff, more concerned with there own interests, than others. After two 330cc glasses of beer was charged 4.40 euros, which is on par with the rip off prices down town. I can only imagine previous reviewers have lived very sheltered lives, and probable this was their first visit to any bar anywhere, never mind Madeira!

Great atmosphere and very welcoming. Fellow table diners happy to speak to us. Local wine enjoyable with complimentary nibbles.
We visited this beautiful little friendly bar upon chance on the last day of out holiday back in October and couldn’t wait to return. Superb service and very friendly staff. They do the best Ponchas! Popular with the locals, it’s a must of you are in Funchal. Keep up the great work.
Popped in for a coffee during a lavada walk. We had a couple of good coffees and sat outside in a nice shaded seating area. Very well worth popping in if walking along the lavada
