The Katsu sandwiches here are delicious and truly one-of-a-kind. They offer a great variety of flavors, complemented by tasty side dishes. I particularly liked the Japanese bread used for the sandwiches. I highly recommend trying the Chipotle Asiago W.T.F. Pommes. There are plenty of parking spaces available in the square. Expect to spend around $12-15 per person after tax and tip, and a bit more if you order fries.... View all feedback.
What Mitch A dislikes about Mr. Katsu:
I have the chicken cutlet here instead of the pork and I noticed that they have changed the chicken that they use it used to be for lack of a better word real chicken and now it’s chopped up chicken that’s formed into the shape of a patty it’s not the same. Very disappointing Wheelchair accessibility: Definitely wheelchair accessible and the counter is low for wheelchair access. View all feedback.
The staff is consistently friendly and incredibly helpful! I've honestly never had a dish here that I didn't love. The chicken katsu sandwich is my absolute favorite in Orange County—no exaggeration! I really hope this place sticks around for years to come. You should definitely give it a try; you'll enjoy the delicious food, the playful wall art, and the charming mustache cat logo. It's worth making the drive, even if you're not in the area, and I feel fortunate to live nearby!
If my Doordash order of Mr. Katsu tasted delicious, I knew that it was going to be more delicious if I came in person to order and to eat it right away. That was definitely the correct call because it tasted amazing! Their katsu sandos are the fluffiest in the area and that is primarily due to the brioche bread that they use. I came on a Sunday afternoon around 4pm and it wasn't too crowded. They make everything fresh to order so you can expect your katsu to be fresh and juicy. You order at the counter and they'll bring your order out. Once you finish dining in, you clean up after yourself by returning the tray and throwing away your trash by the station located next to the door. Would I come back for another visit, of course!! P A R K I N G L O C A T I O N Cross Streets are Yorba Linda Blvd. and Sapphire Rd., pretty close to the 57 North freeway Located in the same plaza as Little India and Gem Gourmet Meats and more. Decent amount of parking in the plaza. It wasn't too busy around a Sunday afternoon, but I'm unsure if it'll get packed during the typical peak hours F O O D Katsu Curry Sando $12.25) I'm tied between the Katsu Curry Sando or the Umeboshi Goat Katsu Sando as my favorite from Mr. Katsu because dipping the katsu sando in the curry sauce is such a game changer. The brioche just soaks up the curry and it's just so lovely! I believe you can get a side of curry sauce on the side for any sandwich for an extra cost. Umeboshi Goat Cheese Katsu Sando $13.35) This is such a unique pairing of plum and goat cheese that I had to try out. I actually enjoyed this combination so much that I recommended my other foodie friends to try it out! Yakisoba Katsu Sando $12.25) I would get this if I'm feeling super hungry so I have the yaki soba to help me fill up. It was another unique creation! Potato Puffs S:$5 L: $7) I got a large size which comes with 10) potato puffs, so I could try out the original and curry flavors. If you're a big fan of Japanese curry, then you'll love the strong flavor of the curry potato puffs. If not a big fan of that, then I would just get the original.
I absolutely adore this place! I've visited two to three times in a week at most, and at least once a month. My friend's mother owns it, but even before I knew that, I was smitten. I'm completely obsessed with the Umeboshi Goat Cheese; the savory and tangy flavor is amazing! The coleslaw adds a nice crunch and enhances the overall refreshing taste.
Great customer service and the food is delicious. I had the teriyaki Chicken sandwich and kalbi fires, both were amazing! Would definitely recommend you give Me Katsu a try.
