Had the shirosoba with ume rice and gyoza. The soup is mix of chicken and fish broths, very simple toppings and straight medium noodles. So so so good, you can mix the leftover soup with the rice and not feel guilty at all. Not much seating so may be a wait at times. Also ny meal was almost 1700 yen, so not cheap but worth it! What User doesn't like about The Blues Noodles:
The service was absolutely disappointing. We got there around 7PM, which was not during peak hour at all, but the staff seemed constantly upset and annoyed to us the entire time we were there. It was my first time ever being treated rudely by “Japanese”. No sense of customer service at all. As long as you don't care about the service but from my side, I am not giving them a second chance. This is a precious spot for the lovers of Lamen, the uniqueness of the original recipe for each pick on the menu, the beauty of execution of the dishes and deliciousness of ingredients builds up to be unforgettable. There are fixed recipes in the menu and sone that are seasonal according to the owner's appeal, who's friendly and very receptive along with the other guys at the shop. On weekdays there's a special lunch set that gives you the taste of the plain original lamen recipe of the house with a half portion of gyōza (absolutely delicious like nothing else! and a juicy rice pot which you can throw some of the broth in (as advised by the staff . The Misoba comes and goes off the menu, but it is one of the most exquisite take on the miso lamen you might have in a lifetime, perfection. The ingredients are all sourced by local collaborators which brings an enchantment to the whole experience of taste and belief in their community. BGM gives a nice ambience to the food and honours the masters of the Blues in its homage, very pleasant. I can never get enough, and always leave with a happy feeling inside my tummy and my soul. It closes every Monday and 1st/3rd Tuesdays of the month — not sure how National holidays affect the calendar (but I guess everyone needs a break, ay . _____ It's not so far from Fujinomiya station and there some sightseeing close by, so it's nice to walk around and visit town in case you drop by.
The ramen is wonderful but you must try the gyoza too the yuzu pickle is a surprisingly good combo. English menu
Very friendly staff with good English skills. The food was extraordinary tasteful!
The ramen here is incredibly amazing! One of the best ramen I've ever had in my life. I ordered the signature bowl and the tonkotsu ramen first and they were awesome so I decided to order the miso ramen and the gyoza to see how it taste. Turn out that everything in this restaurant are sooooo good. The noodle, the soup, the roasted chicken, they are all amazing.
Delicious ramen, next level gyoza and cool old blues. What more could you ask for? 100% recommend.
