cheap but tasty, eating is very fast served and is really homemade. there is an English menu. cash payment. the staff was very nice and helped ask. they feel that they came to a place where local food goes. it is worth walking 10 minutes outside the tourist zone. instead of eating overpriced dining in restaurants only on the lake try something local, they will enjoy it! What User doesn't like about Takegawa Udon:
The udon here is great, thick and chewy. For those who dont eat much should just order the regular bowl instead of large. Portion of udon is alot. Be prepared to finish the side ingredients and left with lots of the udon noodle. Overall taste is great but can be boring for some who craves for many different sides to eat with the udon. I came past this place after I had taken a wrong turn and I am so glad it happened! I was treated like a star, I think I was the only non-local person inside. I have a table for me, on Japanese way, and enjoyed a local bowl of Yoshida-no-udon, horse meat noodles. they were delicious. the place is very simple, but clean and the staff was incredibly friendly. After they had paid, they could find me the way back to the station and gave me a cool gadget as thank you for her hospitable.
Simple menu, but simply delicious. almost all natives. they go early or otherwise this is really long. if you cannot read the menu, simply select what the person eats next to them.

The name in english is takekawa udon. the noodles are delicious. it was at 10 a.m. on a Sunday when I arrived. they have an English picture menu with instructions to show. they pay when you eat. the menu is simply large or small udon in broth or with broth on the side. toppings green planks, tofu, seetang, ei and horse meat. I have everything except the flesh. very nice owner busy popular cheap place. you take your shoes off and sit Japanese style. there is a water dispenser they also help themselves. I highly recommend it my udon was delicious, fresh and came very fast.
