The only humour was trying to catch the 2 incredibly persistant flies that joined us for our cold meat and cheese.

There could hardly be a more... read more We stumbled across the Schlosshotel Chastè by chance, having walked up from Scuol railway station on the way to see Tarasp Castle. There could hardly be a more idyllic location for lunch in a peaceful hamlet with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and also of Tarasp Castle itself.We were not really dressed appropriately for such a refined establishment (it being a member of Relais Chateaux and us being in our walking gear), but the staff were very welcoming. We only ordered from their snack menu (board of Grison meats and Alpine cheese for 2 people to share) plus a 50cl bottle of Rosé, so not really a test of the chef's capabilities, but the prices seemed reasonable enough (for Switzerland, anyway).It was a most wonderful experience. I hope to return but for a short stay next time!
