Am liebsten esse ich ein altes DDR-Gericht, weil ich mir denke, dass das hier bestimmt gut ist. Natürlich sind mehr als 25 Jahre seit der Wende vergangen und auch hier hat sich die Gastronomie weiter entwickelt. Aber mit meiner Taktik bin ich immer gut gefahren. Deshalb hatte ich hier ein Steak au four gewählt. Der Service brachte zwar die Speisekarte fragte aber nicht nach dem Getränk und war verschwunden. So vergingen dann fast 15 Min bis das erste Bier auf dem Tisch stand. Das Essen folgte dann verhältnismäßig schnell, war aber frisch, denn aus der Küche hörte man das Klopfen. Die Portion war ausreichend und hat wie erwartet geschmeckt. Die Pommes waren etwas sehr kross. Insgesamt war es völlg ok, man kann zufrieden sein. Wenn es passt mal wieder passt kann ich mir vorstellen wieder zu kommen.

On our first visit we were attracted by a sign outside offering a nightly special of meatballs accompanied by boiled potatoes and a carrot and leek mixture in cream sauce for only 6.90 Euros. We quite enjoyed that meal, so we made another visit a few days later. That time we ordered off the regular menu, one of us choosing Zander (pike-perch) with leeks and a rice/wild rice mixture (13.50) and the other a Jagerschnitzel with potato and veg (12.50). The portion of fish was modest but tasty, so we were reasonably happy with that dish. The schnitzel, unfortunately, was a different story. It was large but dreadfully overcooked, as was obvious just looking at it. Apparently the chef just wasn't paying attention. It is apparent that the locals are shunning this establishment in favor of the always-busy Boulevard Restaurant across the street. The Forstklause isn't a bad place to eat, but clearly it needs to up its game.
