The only bar and restaurant in the airport once you get through TSA. You have a small menu with breakfast lunch and dinner options. They carry local brewery Tioga beers on design. My favorite is the Sherman IPA. The bar is so close to the gates, super simple and comfortable. Even if you don't want to wait the long Starbucks line, you can get some coffee here. What User doesn't like about John Muir Tavern:
Thee only options once you pass security are this, Starbucks (closes at 5pm), and Hudson News. Super not worth the prices, even considering its in an airport. At least with Starbucks food you know exactly what you're getting. View all feedback.
Sure, prices are steep, but it's the only restaurant/bar past TSA. What else are you going to do when your flight gets delayed? A waitress noticed us idling by for a seat at the bar and offered us a spot at a table instead. Table was dirty, but she cleared it for us. Their attention is hard to catch as they're generally so busy tending to all patrons, but she did come around in as timely as a manner as she could, and she was nice.
Since FAT is such a small airport, this spot is the only eatery within the entire airport. Which means the cost of the food is highly inflated. $50 for 2 margaritas and a side of tater tots. I'm almost embarrassed at the money I spent here. The food is mediocre, but the staff are good. My server was Juan and his customer service was excellent. My suggestion is to eat before coming to this airport. So you can save yourself some money. But if it's your last resort, be prepared to spend an obscene amount of money.
I generally don 't post bad reviews because I understand people have bad days, etc. but this place is consistent in their incompetence. Don 't bother with it. It 's the only place beyond security to eat, and apparently that motivates them to not care. Today I showed up st 6:40am for breakfast and two women sitting there told me it would be 15 minutes until they opened. Okay. At 7:05 I returned, only to be told they were still st lunch . Closed for lunch at 7am? Okay. Returned again at 7:15, same two women sitting there and as I asked still closed? One of them just rolled her eyes at me and neither responded. As I turned to leave a man standing there (looked like traveler waiting to be seated, to be honest) tried talk to me to explain , but after waiting more than 30 minutes (at prime bfast time) for them to open , I 'd had enough. By the way, at 7:30, they were all three still sitting there, closed. Although my home is not FAT, I travel here several times a year. Service here is always suspect, but today it rose to new heights. Don 't bother with this place, come early and eat at the sports bar outside of security.
Mannnnnnnn. On top of missing flights, walking around Fresno to kill time (not to mention the wheels on my suitcase broke while walking) I finally get back to the airport to sit and eat something good. I sat at John Muir Tavern expecting to eat some amazing food. All of that crumbled away as I wasted 30min sitting and going unnoticed. Not one waiter brought me a menu or asked if I wanted anything...made me feel invisible and just added the cherry to the **** pie I was handed today. And as I got up the lady that walked past me numerous times asked if I needed anything smh. Worst day ever.
I stopped here before my flight and ordered a bacon cheeseburger. It was good. That's all there is to it. The service was friendly, and the place was clean. It's a small airport so there aren't many options. For not having any competition, I believe this location nevertheless makes an effort to put out good meals.
