Excellent selection. Rotating taps, but never fails to have something I like. Food is also quite good.
This is just a brilliant bar. We were on a trip to san jose recently for two nights and loved this bar so much we went back a second night. Different bar person each night but they were both top of their game, excellent bar people. The beers are excellent, a nice selection with brilliant options in the fridge also. Price per person: $50–100 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: IPA 16oz
Gave the bartender my card because he said he messed up the computer and would fix it. Then he tapped the card and handed it back. I didn’t think anything of it until today when my credit card company asked me if I left a 100% tip. Last time I let a drunk bar tender handle my card. Came in the evening of 10/9. It’s a shame, the beer was really good. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5
Taplands is a great pub. We go there to watch Bay FC soccer games because they host Watch Parties. The bartenders and Manager are so nice and helpful, it's a breath of fresh air compared to so many bars/pubs around here. There is a covered patio out in front with picnic tables and a TV screen and inside there are some tables that seat 4-6, a tall counter w/ stools, 2 sofas, and the bar. I highly recommend Taplands, especially for Bay FC Watch Parties! Vegetarian options: There are quite a few things that are suitable for vegetarians, from burrata tomato small plate, homemade chips French onion dip, salads, and kids grilled cheese. (There are probably more but that's what we ate so that's what I remember. Parking: We've always had an easy time finding parking, either on the street or in the parking lot. Wheelchair accessibility: There are 2 tables just inside the door that will accommodate wheelchairs. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: IPA 16oz Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot, Free of charge street parking
I love Taplands and I can 't believe it 's taken me this long to get around to writing a review for them. I 'm sitting in Chicago right now and all I can think about is my hometown Santa Clara tap room, Taplands. Bars, breweries, brew pubs, and tap rooms surround me, and it 's Taplands on my mind. My uncle introduced me to the place. He used to go every Saturday morning, at 11:00 A.M. on the dot, right after he 'd grabbed his mail from the Post Office in Franklin Square and finished shopping at the nearby Santa Clara Farmer 's Market. Once they kicked the doors opened, my uncle had his favorite stool, and without a word, the bartenders, any of them, knew exactly which, of their various 25 taps, to pour him. He 'd mingle with everyone and sometimes meet Bob for lunch, when the two of them would split a panini sandwich and buy one extra bag of chips, so they could each get their own bag and the proper amount of salt to go with those delicious beers. Eventually my uncle had to let me know about his special watering hole, and I am so glad he did as I, too, enjoyed many a visit to Taplands. Things I have seen there: locals regulars SCU students other clientele brewery 'takeover ' events the owner dressed as a Christmas elf TVs rotating tap menu of choice local, independent breweries knowledgeable, friendly staff good snack menu so much more I will be back soon. Next time I 'm there, I 'm buying a round for the house, to honor my uncle. Better hold me to it! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
