Reviews - Pluck
Reviews summary
Pluck, the duck-centric food truck, delights diners with its unique offerings like smoked duck ramen, duck pastrami sandwiches, and duck confit tacos. While the service is prompt and friendly, some dishes can be a bit hit-or-miss in terms of flavor and portion size. Prices tend toward the premium side, reflecting the high-quality duck ingredients. The ambiance at locations like the G lounge and Off The Grid is casual, making it a fun stop for duck enthusiasts, though patrons should be prepared for the occasional longer wait during busy events.

I really wish you would come back to Menlo Park on Wednesdays. I miss those confit tacos! They were absolutely amazing.
I ordered the smoked duck ramen ($14) at Off The Grid in Cupertino. The flavor of the duck was unusual and something I wasn't used to, but the broth was delicious—ideal for the cooler weather! The staff was friendly and prompt. Overall, it was a wonderful dinner. I can't wait to return and try the duck fat poutine!
Tried Pluck today for lunch, while they were at the G lounge in SOMA. There was no wait, service was good, and the food was ready pretty quickly. I ordered the smoked duck ramen, which overall was pretty good as far as food truck ramen goes. The broth was really flavorful, duck nice and tender, and the mushrooms were great (not sure what kind they are but LOVED whatever they marinated it in). The taste and texture of the noodles were a bit off and the poached egg didn't quite break in the right way. However apart from that I'd say pretty decent ramen. They also offer it with foie gras on some days, which I imagine would be pretty tasty as well! My friend also ordered the duck fat poutine, which was basic but good. Loved the gravy and addition of the green onions, but not sure if I'd order it again. Overall a pretty decent experience. I recommend going if you're as much of a duck lover as I am!
Finally got to try Pluck when they were at Off The Grid Foster City and they pretty much met my expectations. What else can I expect from a truck focused on duck entrees? They have Duck Ramen, Duck Tacos, Duck Pastrami Sandwiches, and Duck Fat Fries. It's a pretty straightforward spread but I like the creativity with each one. Granted though, duck isn't exactly an everyday ingredient, so the prices are a little more on the premium side. Duck Confit Tacos House made Duck Confit, salsa verde, pickled red onions, cotija cheese These tacos were good! You probably can't it in the pic, but these tacos were loaded with duck confit. Smoked Duck Ramen House smoked Duck Breast, duck broth, pickled shiitake mushrooms, 63 degree egg, daikon sprouts, green onions, black sesame seeds. At $14, this was pretty pricey for ramen, but it's understandable since duck costs a lot more than chashu. It was still a solid bowl of ramen though and the smoked duck had a lot of flavor and you gotta love the runny egg! So yeah, a very solid first experience with Pluck. Unfortunately during this visit, they only had an abbreviated menu. They didn't have their famous duck pastrami sandwich or their foie gras ramen, so hopefully they'll have it on their menu when I visit them again in the near future.
