Chatpatta Corner - Fremont
Chatpatta Corner
Description
Nestled in the Bay Area, this restaurant has garnered mixed reviews, oscillating between praise and disappointment. While some enthusiastic patrons rave about the outstanding panipuri and well-crafted chaat, others report a distressing experience characterized by poor food quality, unwelcoming service, and inconvenient cash-only payment policies. Problems persist with stale items and undercooked dishes, leading to guests questioning their desire to return. Despite the potential for great flavors, the inconsistencies in quality and service seem to overshadow the restaurant's strengths, leaving many customers hesitant about future visits. A true gamble for adventurous diners seeking authentic flavors.

This place has the best panipuri and chaat in the Bay Area. We live on the peninsula and don't get to enjoy them enough, but when we do, it's always a great experience. Currently, they only offer takeout or outdoor dining, but the food is well-made and packaged. We will definitely be returning soon!
We ordered the bhel puri, Samosa-Chaat, samosas, and dahi bhalla. The bhel puri lacked a nice crunch and did not have the tamarind flavor I was expecting. The samosas were overcooked, had a doughy taste, and the potatoes were not cooked properly. The dahi bhalla was watery and tasted stale. My companion ended up throwing it out and was not willing to try any more of our dishes. I do not think I will be coming back to this restaurant.
The food is decent, but their customer service is terribly lacking. With no sense of hospitality, their high prices are unjustified. I will not be returning to this establishment.
I highly recommend the chole bhature and pani puri. Every dish we ordered was fantastic, and my child enjoyed it as well!
The best Pani Puri in the California Bay Area! The Gobi and Aloo parathas are also great choices. If you're in the mood for rice, definitely try their Kadhi Chawal. A couple of important tips: try to arrive before 7 PM for a more relaxed dining experience. However, I wasn't impressed with the naan, and I found the Kachori, Masala Puri, and Sev Puri to be lacking as well.
