The location of the hotel is great, right in the old town and therefore everything is very easy to reach. The hotel itself has a very nice atmosphere, the rooms are spacious, modern and clean. Breakfast offers a good selection and the hot food is excellent. Last but not least, the whole team is very, very friendly and accommodating. Can only warmly recommend the hotel! What David Holloway doesn't like about Gasthaus Zum Goldenen Hirschen:
The lady who owns the place is very nice But the waiter who has been there few years, I think from Hungary, is the rudest man we have ever seen. No welcome, this has chapped 5 times now and with other guests of ourscharges for drink straight away, poor poor service, he does not deserve to have a job in the gasthaus business. Der Kellner ist ewig nicht gekommen, dass wir schon wieder gehen wollten. Er war unfreundlich und die Preise sind für Freistadt überteuert!
