The food was a nice surprise as we were disappointed in another historic city the day before. The waiter served us plentiful and good quality food and was pleased with our response to quality and taste. Very helpful and welcome. Good, honest local food. Good wine!

Reluctantly we wandered and Am Eisentor. It looks typical German and a little bit plain. That was not true of the food which was great. We had a meat appetizer that was almost enough for a meal. The main course had tastes that were truly unique and delicious. They had smaller portions for our grandsons that also were outstanding. All in all the food and service was warm and friendly.

The fried potatoes were without bacon or onions, so unfortunately rather bland. However, they did offer a complimentary shot.

The dishes arrived with a huge time gap. By the time the last person at the table received their food, the first person had finished eating long ago. Meanwhile, food was being brought to other tables. That's completely unacceptable.
