This place offers stunning views of the Frieburg valley. The walks around the restaurant make it a convenient destination for hikers. What Noémi Gilbert doesn't like about St. Barbara:
the first sunny Sunday in Freiburg and we decided to hike with my man and our months-long baby. we went to st. barbara, because we always make st. valentin and st. ottilien, so a change. the place has a very. nice vew, it was full, so it was a surprise to see cuddly youngs waiting tables. no chance to sit outside, so let's sit where almost nobody sat. we waited an hour and didn't even look at each other. never get a... When they come to foot from the city, it is a somewhat long and steep walk, but it is worth it. the local is really beautiful and has a beautiful view of the valleh below. when we arrived (only before nine on a Friday night) it was quite crowded, but we could share a table with two nice men, so it was good. the menu looked very promising and it was difficult to choose, but our choices were at least all excellent as the cheerful wine beer that accompanied the eating. I will recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice place to eat good local food. I would definitely like to return to Freiburg at a future visit.
The restaurant certainly looked very good at us when we were walking hours to get there. However, eating was quite good and the look into the valley is amazing. despite the proximity of Freiburg, the place is very quiet as if there is. no one around. Although there is a tor that prevents car from getting too close, I believe that it will be opened if necessary to access all.
That must be one of my favorite restaurants in the region of freiburg. eating is blackforest tapas, (black forest tapas,) so tapas, of course they get tapas size teller, so absolutely no problem gives, the note is in the name. maybe they just order more and. enjoy a wider selection of dressed, even better with the tapas wine selection. eating is very tasty and naturally typical blackforest, so they can enjoy a great selection of seasonal food from the region all delicious. as a commercial food photographer in london I am happy enough to work with many chefs that eat here every time we visited was really good. the restaurant itself is very cozy in the cooler months, with candles, a quiet and welcoming atmosphere and failed tellers to complete the cozy feeling. in summer they have a fantastic view over the valley below from the terrace, which is always a bit cooler at the very hot days. my wife and I order a bit and we are always very full; at least teller share. with a tapas wine selection for me and two bottled water for my pregnant woman, the sum euro is a head, which is worth a big one for such a pleasant evening!
Not amazing but good enough. The location is amazing, the food is OK and the beer is really nice. It's worth the trip if you're around Freiburg.
