Since we were a bit pressed for time, we ended up taking the food to go instead of ordering a meal deal and eating in.

The manager of the shop pays such close attention to the toppings on the bread that you sometimes feel sorry for the employees. I was there once and an employee put toppings on my bread. The manager saw it and said there were too many olives on it. She then took what she thought were the excess olives off the bread and put them back in the container, even though I wanted double the olives. She then scolded the employee. I still had 12 olives on my bread afterwards and was told that that would be perfectly sufficient. I'm usually really quick-witted, but even I was absolutely speechless when they showed such a lack of understanding of what to do while customers are still there. I feel sorry for every one of the workers there, because the working atmosphere is being disrupted by management that should actually have an interest in a good shop atmosphere. Big compliments to the two young students who work there part-time; they're fantastic and deserve a much better working environment than what is offered there. If the two of them are alone, you actually enjoy coming into the shop. You can even tell the boss's presence is noticeable among the employees as soon as they enter the store. It's creepy. Nevertheless, I like to go there to get my food if there are employees there who make you feel like they're still interested in the customer's wishes. I don't want to punish the entire store, I just think the owner should seriously consider what she's doing and whether perhaps more customers would come into the store if the atmosphere wasn't noticeable even before you touch the door. It would probably be more profitable than constantly scaring away customers, and none of the employees can do anything about that. Management coaching would be more than appropriate here. I'm also bothered by the fact that the store is closed on Sundays, but that's certainly due to personnel reasons that can only be changed if the store is profitable.
