Nestled along the picturesque Nautical Mile, this restaurant presents a mixed bag of experiences for diners. While some rave about the excellent service and delicious dishes like the soft-shell crabs and fried shrimp, others criticize inattentive staff and food inconsistencies. The ambiance, particularly on the outdoor terrace, enhances the dining experience, yet some patrons express disappointment with overly casual service and miscommunication regarding menu specials. Despite the occasional hiccups, many appreciate the reasonable prices and quality of food, leading to a noteworthy recommendation for future visits, provided improvements are made in service and menu transparency.

Went here today and the food was delicious. The waitress was very nice and friendly. The food was prepared very quick, temperature was just right. The drinks were on the money. I will definitely be going back.

Tasted like I was eating water. Absolutely NO FLAVOR!!! We ordered broiled snapper and King crab legs. Our waitress was friendly and drinks were spot on.

Came here after jet skiing close by. Knew the original place since I grew up in Freeport but was under new ownership. All had the $19.95 prixe fixe menu and the dishes were really good. Fried shrimp (5 big shrimp) crisp and tasty with crisp fries, appetizer small New England clam chowder that wasn't too salty and tiramasu for dessert that was probably store bought but good. Another had seafood boil which had lots of clams, mussels, shrimp, corn and potatoes. Others had shrimp scampi over pasta that was flavorful and plentiful. Overall, good food at at a very good price.

I visited this restaurant for lunch recently on a whim because I remembered they used to offer bay scallops, which are hard to find at many places. We didn’t realize until we got there that the restaurant had changed ownership, but since we were already seated, we decided to make the best of it. The menu featured a mix of seafood and some Asian dishes (no bay scallops, of course), and nothing really stood out as appealing. There was a good lunch special advertised on a board outside, but when we sat down, we were given the regular menu instead of the lunch special menu. Apparently, you have to ask for that! I overheard another table mentioning they were out of crab (I think), and the waitress suggested lobster as an alternative. Unfortunately, the service was lacking; when we asked about the dessert options included with the lunch special, she simply replied, "You’ll have to wait and see." I ended up ordering the General Tso’s chicken, which was crispy but incredibly dry—mostly breading and hardly any sauce, quite disappointing. The New England clam chowder tasted more like a watery potato soup than the rich dish I was expecting. The only item that seemed to please anyone at the table was the fried shrimp. For dessert, our options were ice cream or tiramisu. I opted for the tiramisu, even though I’m not a big fan, as I wasn’t in the mood for ice cream. I won’t comment on whether it was a good version or not since I didn’t really enjoy it. Overall, I have no interest in returning to this restaurant.

I had a disappointing experience at the restaurant due to the behavior of the waitress, Kerry. When I inquired about Chablis wine, she rudely insisted that the restaurant has never offered it, despite my clear memory of ordering it there multiple times. I even tried to inform her that Chablis is a type of white wine, but she dismissed my correction with an attitude, stating that I was wrong. To avoid further unpleasantness in the nearly empty restaurant, I decided to stop engaging with her. My family and I have been loyal customers for over eight years, and we have certainly enjoyed Chablis in the past, even ordering it by the carafe. However, after our interaction with Kerry, we chose to order less food and fewer drinks that evening. To make matters worse, my family reported that when I went to the restroom, Kerry approached them to repeat her claim that the restaurant has never served Chablis. This felt particularly sneaky, as she chose that moment to address them when I was not there. Her behavior was discouraging enough that I felt compelled to write this review. I was willing to overlook the incident, but now I’ve decided that I will never return to this restaurant again. A loyal customer now lost!
