Was recommended this place by my hotel desk agent as I was told they had amazing burgers. Was very happy with it and the poutine. Food was delicious and Great pricing. Atmosphere was cozy and not crowded. Feedback for the restaurant: the server always seemed to be rushing when he talked or walked. His service was excellent but he can slow down a little especially because the restaurant wasn't busy at the time. He was... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Hilltop:
I've tried twice since the new management but am yet again disappointed. They charge 1$ for a refill of fountain pop and an up charge of $2.99 for poutine that literally had 4 small pieces of cheese. I emailed the last time the address on the website to let them know the service was terrible but never heard back. After today's experience I will not be returning. View all feedback.
Went here last week with family for a late dinner. Was disappointed to see almost no vegetarian items on the menu and when I mentioned to the server that they should have a veggie burger she said they have them they just don't advertise (still unsure why)I was thrilled and wanted to order the tandoori burger and sub a veggie patty and was told there were no substitutions allowed and I would have to order a veggie burger the way they came with lettuce tomato and onion. I was a little confused as to why but finally decided to order the tandoori burger anyhow with the meat on the side and I would just give it to my dog - our server then said well let me ask the kitchen if they could do a tandoori veggie burger for you. She came back and said yes the kitchen gave the go ahead for it so you are good to go!The food came fairly fast. I loved the presentation of the burger and the fries were delish! The burger itself was outstanding - if you like Indian flavours- would go back just for their burger ! And for u meat lovers - u may even want to go veggie - I bet in this case u will not even miss your meat! Anyways - only complaint is lack of veggie food - nice to know u have veggie burgers but advertising would help - I hope this changes Other than that it was a tasty and fun night so thank u will come back for sure for the veggie burger!
It's a great restaurant but nothing spectacular about the food but it wasn't bad either...at best, I'd say it was average...great service though!!!
We arrived in Fredericton after a long drive and our hotel is in the outskirts of the city and we are surrounded by industrial areas and some shopping. We asked the woman on the front desk to recommend a place we can eat at that was in walking distance. She recommended a place called The Hilltop. Off we went and it was not an inspiring walk, I felt like I was in any small city anywhere in Canada. The Hilltop has a great name but not much of a hilltop and no view. However, the surprise was that it served the best food and craft beer that I have had on this whole trip. That includes Montreal and Quebec City. They had about 5 craft beers and we asked our server what she would recommend for food and drink. She recommended a red ale with a nutty flavour that was not hoppy and was smooth. She made a stellar recommendation cause we had 2 each. For dinner I had their smoke house burger which had just won the best burger in all of Fredericton and it was delicious. When I asked if they make good onion rings I hardly had the question out and she was saying yes. She did not lie about that. My friend had the ribeye streak on her recommendation and it was cooked just how she likes it and was very tasty. This was a good choice for a meal and I am glad we were near it even if it was not in a pretty setting. Next time you are in Fredericton check out The Hilltop.I wish I had asked the server her name because she was very knowledgeable about the beers and made great food recommendations.
We enjoyed a nice lunch at this restaurant. I had never been there before and was very pleased with the food and service. I definitely recommend dining there.
